The musical battle between India and Pakistan ended with Pakistan’s win. Sur Kshetra was one of the hottest singing reality show ever in the history of Pakistan and India.
This is really an exciting news for Pakistani music that Nabeel Shaukat Ali, the contestant from team Pakistan, has won the trophy of Sur Kshetra. The good news is not for Pakistan—but it is more better news for music of country.
Pakistan team’s mentor Atif Aslam was the favorite, with girls especially hooting for him. The finale was held in the World Trade centre of Dubai on December 20, 2012 with top six finalists of both countries including Sara Raza Khan, Mulazim Hussain, Nabeel Shaukat Ali, Yashraaj Kapill, Diljaan and Budhaditya Mukharjee.
The show was hosted by “WANTED” actress Ayesha Takia. Abida Parveen from Pakistan, Runa Laila from Bangladesh and Asha Bhosle from India were the respected jury member.
The show also brought together celebrities from both sides with music greats including Esmail Darbar, Suresh Wadkar, Ghulam Ali and Sajjad Ali. Pakistan team’s mentor Atif Aslam was the favourite, with girls especially hooting for him.
And when he rendered his 5-minutes medley the crowd went berserk, Such.tv reports. Himesh Reshamiya, Indian team’s mentor did not fail to impress either. He belted out 25 of his songs in 14 minutes. ‘Mujhe yaad sataye teri’, ‘Go go Govinda’ and ‘Hookah bar’ got the crowd on their feet.
There were two rounds in finale. In the first round the competition was held between Yashraaj Kapill and Dil Jaan. Dil Jaan won this first round. In the second round the competition was held between Nabeel Shaukat Ali and Mulazim Hussain.
The audience seemed to like Nabeel Shaukat Ali, while Yashraaj Kapill and Diljaan were the judges favourites. After 3 hours of power packed performances form both the teams, the battle of supremacy was ended as Nabeel Shaukat Ali crowned as the winner.
Captain of Pakistani team, Atif Aslam said, “I have learnt so much from my students … and I had a great time performing with some of the biggest legends in the music industry.”
Abida Parveen, Pakistani sufi singer expressed her views about the show and said,”The concept of the show is so unique that it can boost affection between two countries. That’s a great feat.”
The grand finale of Sur Kshetra, a singing talent show between India and Pakistan, will be telecasted on december 29, 2012 on Geo TV and Colort TV.
