The fourth edition of the Karachi Fashion Week (KFW 4), the biggest fashion week of Pakistan kicked off at the Expo Center on Saturday featuring several big players of the industry along with new talent. There are top 30 designers from Pakistan, India, Nigeria and the United State, among others, exhibited their collections during the Karachi Fashion Week 2013.
Karachi Fashion Week is a fashion week held in Karachi, Pakistan. It is the country’s largest fashion display event. Along with local designers, the event also showcased the work of designers from Malaysia, Nigeria, Los Angeles and India (two from Nigeria, six from Los Angeles, and one from India so far).
Pakistan’s one of the most anticipated fashion week has illuminated the “City of Lights” of Pakistan. Karachi is hosting the international and national designers. Karachin Fashion Week 2013 is a key event fro both the tourism and fashion industry of Pakistan.
The event has already attracted both national and international buyers, media, models, designers and the fashion savvy, providing dynamic array of opportunities to network and engage with the art of fashion and the promotion of tourism to Pakistan.
4The KFW Red Carpet area features an exhibition space with stalls set up by Brands Just Pret, Gul Ahmed, Borjan, Turkish Airlines, Indian designer Karma, etc, according to the Dawn.
The choreographer for all the shows is Imran Kureishi with hair and make-up by Huma Tahir of Huma and Zara’s Salon assisted in male grooming by Bilal Khan, backstage management by Moiz Kazmi and model-cum-designer coordination and management by Sheharyar Shaukat and Muneer Mohammed.
This four-day fashion event is organized by Excellent Events and Entertainment (Pvt) Ltd. (Triple-E) under the aegis of the Pakistan Fashion Council (PFC), with support from both the International and National Chapter Pakistan of the World Fashion Organization (WFO).
Veteran stylist Tariq Amin is the creative and aesthetic consultant of KFW and will continue to set the mood and raise the bar for the fashion brands showcasing at both Karachi Fashion Week and later at Islamabad Fashion Week. Zeeshan Bari closed the segment and the Day 1 of the KFW to a lasting applause as Nadia, Iraj, Saima and other models paraded a collection that was magnificent on all counts.
